How to find your IMEI number

Every iPhone and iPad has and IMEI and serial number. You will need this information to register your device or request support, and if you are looking for your iPhone’s IMEI number, there are multiple places where you can find this information. Finding your IMEI number on your device isn’t as hard as it looks – if you have an iPhone, you can find your IMEI number by simply dialling *#06#. After you’ve dialled this sequence, your IMEI number will appear on the screen.

But if this doesn’t work for you, you can find the IMEI number of your device in several other ways.

  1. Go to Settings, click General and then About to see your device’s serial number and IMEI number.
  2. You can also find the IMEI number engraved on the back of your device, although you might need a magnifying glass to see it.
  3. If you still have the original packaging of your device, you can find the IMEI number on the barcode label.
  4. Find it when you connect to iTunes.
    • Connect your iOS device to your computer
    • Open iTunes
    • Locate your device
    • Click the summary tab for your device’s information
    • With your phone connected, click Phone Number to see the IMEI number
